Character design is among the most important aspects of creating an animated film. Appealing design can provide one more way for the audience to identify with and grow to like your characters. When animating, good design can augment your characters’ performance; a well designed model will always pose better. However, design is such a subjective pursuit that it is impossible to define in certain terms what is “appealing”; we are, in the end, left only with our opinion and a sense of what we respond to.
